Welcome to another season of NYC Girls [PSAL High School] Basketball! The 2013 New Candidates Class will begin tonight at McClancy High School. If you know of anyone that is interested in becoming a NYC Girls Basketball Official, please let them know that the course is beginning this evening [9/16/23]:
- YOU HAVE TO RESIDE IN ONE OF THE FIVE BOROUGHS IN ORDER TO TAKE THIS COURSE.
- THE COURSE IS ONLY OFFERED IN ONE LOCATION THIS YEAR
The information for the course is as follows:
CLASSES ARE HELD ON MONDAY AND THURSDAYS FROM 7-9PM
DATES FOR CLASSES ARE:
September 16, 19, 23, 26, 30
October 3, 7, 10, 17, 21, 24

IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOU ATTEND 8 OUT OF 10 CLASS/RULES SESSIONS:
Registration takes place the first day and I offer an additional book review.
IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOU ATTEND ALL 3 OF THE FOLLOWING MECHANICS SESSIONS:
October 28, October 31 and November 4.
*Mechanics sessions are subject to change in the event we get to work on floor with actual players. You will be notified in advance.
In the past the class was offered in two other locations so people were able to make up a class that they missed at one of the other locations. That is not the case this year. If you are not present by the first 1/2 hour of class you will be marked absent. You will not be able to make up the class. Please make every effort to attend all classes as valuable information is given out each session.
EXAM DATE: Tuesday, November 12, 2013
The exam is only offered on one day. There is no make up.
THE COURSE FEE IS $250. ($150 IS FOR COURSE AND $100 IS FOR THE CURRENT SEASON DUES)
Candidates that are not successful in passing the WRITTEN EXAM WILL BE REIMBURSED $100.
ACCEPTABLE METHODS OF PAYMENT ARE MONEY ORDER AND/OR CERTIFIED CHECK
NOTE: We are only able to distribute materials to individuals who have paid for the course. Materials include book, handouts, quizzes and exams.
